Atet

There are three major nations occupying Atet. Jallesia, Yeoguk, and Penk.

Jallesia

Overview

Jallesia is a beautiful and sprawling land. Mixed with flatlands, mountains, tropical rain forests, and great lakes, the lands resemble that of Vietnam to Russia.

Jallesia experiences all the 4 seasons. Their weather is volatile during peak seasons. The very south and eastern coasts are known to be hit with monsoon rains.

There are two ruling governments established within Jallesia. The Clovis Conclave and New Clovis.

The Clovis Conclave

Is a strictly hierarchical society resembling that of medieval Europe. Born out of the ashes of the previous monarchy, the Clovis Conclave formed to survive the All War and the second Great Madness War.

Returning to the strict interpretation of the tannates of King Clovis the 1st, the people were able to find their footing and grow back into a super power.

The key to their super power status was the discovery of a glowstone repository, created by an ancient magocracy or possibly stolen by a magocracy from a previous era. Abandoned during a previous collapse, the repository is in near perfect condition. It is said there is enough glowstone in the repository to make every weapon in the world magical.

In addition, the Clovis Concord was able to reclaim the stone Golem army that was guarding the glowstone, but had since lost their function ability.

The second key resource that was discovered was Aluminum inside their rainforest.

New Clovis

New Clovis is the society set up by Sari Clovis, who worked with the Heralds to save the world. Sari believed in a more compassionate monarchy that was citizen based instead of nobility based. The society believes in a philosophy of “you are only as strong as your weakest link in the chain of progress.” A phrase the princess used throughout her reign as monarch of New Clovis.

With her passing she appointed a new leader of the monarchy, as she had no heirs. She set up a tradition of seeking out a new leadership to fit the outlook for the upcoming eras rather than a traditional blood relative succession.

New Clovis is not allowed to publicly receive aid or trade with the fellowship due to their non-aggression pact they signed with The Clovis Concord, but there are rumors that there is an underground operation feeding resources to the state in an effort to prop up New Clovis as the single ruling nation in Jallesia. This would allow the land to enter the fellowship.

Their key resource are gemstones: Fortunately for New Clovis, the Clovis Concord drew their borderlines in such a way that it split the repository into different sides of the border. On the New Clovis side, a repository of gemstones were found. These were intended to be used with the glowstone for enchanting. Instead this brought instant wealth to New Clovis and deprived the Clovis Concord of more power.

Economy

Clovis Conclave- Thriving economy that outsources glowstone trade to the entire world. Their lands are rich with the best imports of the world thanks to their glowstone repository.

New Clovis- A growing, but infant economy. Wealthy thanks to its gem deposits, it currently lacks the infrastructure to take full advantage of their economic advantages.

Government

Clovis Conclave- A strict Monarchy

New Clovis- A Neo-Monarchy that is people centric, taking after the views of Sari Clovis and the lands of Sorrenmier.

Crime & Legal System

Clovis Conclave- A passing of judgment by appointed Adjudicators or the Monarchy. Nobles have rights to issue punishments depending on their authority in a location. This system gives authority all the power in the criminal process.

New Clovis- A legal process through a court system from appointed judges by the Neo-Monarchy. This system has garnered great criticism due to the lack of infrastructure to process people in a timely manner.

Foreign Relations

Clovis Conclave- Friendly with 3 of the 5 power societies of Penk. Unfriendly with the Atulian Fellowship and New Clovis. Neutral to the rest of the world.

New Clovis- Friendly with some Yeoguk tribes, Friendly with the Atulian Alliance, Unfriendly with the Clovis Conclave and Penk.

Politics

War

The lands of Jallesia have seen war since its inception. Beings have strived to have their house lead the lands of the super power. Many different beings have taken control of the land, but none held it longer than the Clovis Bloodline, lasting 7000 years. One of the only surviving societies from before the most recent collapse, was lost during the All-war and 2nd Great Madness war.

Now both New Clovis and the Clovis Conclave have weak armies in comparison to other nations of the world. Their strength comes from their resources and alliances.

The Land

Physical & Historical Features

Dominated by flatlands, where many fields of war decided the succession of the crown. Jallesia is rich in farming lands. Due to its size, it has great lakes, forests, and mountain ranges granting it a wide berth of natural resources.

Climate & Geography

Jallesia experiences a wide range of climates due to its land mass. The flat lands experience 4 seasons with temperature ranges from 0 F to 120F depending on the seasonal extreme.

Natural Resources

Jallesia has a surplus of natural resources thanks to its geographic area. Although dynasties have risen and fallen to ash, the land always comes back. Jallesia has massive fresh water reserves, strong amounts of natural metals and ores, some of the most nutrient soils, and a domesticated animal population.

Population

Jallesia has 43 million beings residing in it.

Religion & Philosophy

The dominant religion of the nation is faith toward Corellon. Their connection to law and order restored their stability after the collapse of their society. Furthermore, a Valkyrie of Corellon helped free the Clovis Conclave from a tyrant leader that usurped the throne after their rebuild.

Organization

Adjudicators- The Clovis Conclaves’s appointed justice officers. They sort out despites and pass judgment in the monarchy's stead.

People’s Memories- The last bastion of the People’s Alliance. They hope to restore the true democracy that was once established in Clovis. They believe they were robbed of success due to Melora’s corruption.

Vigilants of Corellon- A group of devoted Corellon worshipers looking to give humanitarian aid to those in need. Through their clerical powers or their natural abilities.

Masters of the Hunt- Evolving from the hunter’s guilds of the past. The master’s of the hunt were founded by allies to the herald Bellona. Hunter’s Lodge became the hub for all the aspiring hunters in the world. Here boards are posted for hunts for bounty, coin, or for legend.

The Rage- An extremist group that hides within the rainforests of the land. Not much is known about their motives but they leave any who cross their path in pieces. Their presence is enough to scare children away from wandering the forest alone.

Blackstone faith- A group of devote followers to the raven queen and her herald Rhalia Coldshire (Blackstone). The group continues Rhalia’s research into the world. It is led by two of Rhalia’s descendants and located in Clodshire college.

Blackstone cult- A death obsessed cult that dives deeper into the necromantic ideas that even Rhalia thought might be a bit too far, but the answers would be invaluable.

Festivals

Clovis Conclave: Coronation day, The Gaunt, Treasure's Day,

New Clovis: Glimmer Festival, Foundation Day,

Magic & Science

Magic: the land’s magic system functions as normal 5e rules. Science is as advanced as what you may see in Skyrim.

Medicine

Jallesia is lacking in its scientific innovation in medicine thanks to the comforts of clerics and paladins throughout the land. There are not enough to help everyone in mass, which the Clovis Conclave does not prioritize. Most medicine is traded for from more advanced societies.

Transportation

Traveling by foot, horse, or animal back is common. Magic circles are used by the most magically gifted or the most financially affluent.

Yeoguk

Overview

The entire continent is swallowed by tropical jungle, giving shelter to many ancient species.

Yeoguk is a collection of tribes. Even less organized than Penk, some consider Yeoguk to be complete anarchy.

The dominant population is made up of Lizardfolk. Even after losing 80% of their population to the second Madness War there are more Lizardfolk in Yeoguk then there are citizens in both Jallesia and Penk combined.

Strongclaw tribe: The Strongclaw tribe is the most widely known tribe due to their direct connection to aiding the heralds in the prevented collapse.

The strongclaw tribe is a clan of lizardfolk who follow the ways of the hunt. Their champion, Ragnorium, was long corrupted by Melora when they had to press on.

Carrying on the traditions of the hunt, the Strongclaw found themselves worthy of Mugdis’s grace. Giving a select few, marking of the hunt. MarkedStrongclaw led their people to live off the land, and created jungle palaces for their needs.

Their growth was always slowed by lizardfolks contracting madness. A once small disease, that would end up stealing 80% of their tribe’s population

At its worst, the elderly would sacrifice themselves by going on “the Long Walk”, which was the equivalent of walking into the ocean to disappear.

Strongclaw survived the Madness war at great cost, but rebuilt their lands under the leadership of their mystics and their protector Kane.

Stories are passed down by song, hum, and instrument, recalling those who sacrificed everything for their survival.

Eve, Kane’s life partner, was eternally honored after her death during the siege of Waterdeep.

Strongclaw is friendly or neutral with most other clans in Yeoguk, save any of the beast or orc centric ones. They regularly trade with the minotaur tribes thanks to their connections with the heralds and their shared suffering at the hands of the madness hoard.

Battle Breaker tribe- is a tribe of orcs living in the southern most part of Yeoguk. They dominate the seas and coasts around Yeoguk.

They are a powerful fishing tribe, killing game as large as a curved claw in the seas.

Their group is strongly independent with a hate for outsiders. They live a strict life to ensure their survival. Outsiders always try to come in to make things “better”, but end up costing the tribe lives.

They have a hatred for the tribes up north because they sent their sick and diseased south, where they had to fight their madden forms.

Economy

The tribes of Yeoguk trade in favors and services. There is little value in objects and trinkets to those who survive the trials of the jungle daily.

That is not to say all magical or special artifacts are unwanted, but they do not carry the same value they do elsewhere in the world.

The tribes are pragmatic, practical, and survival based. Whatever can get them through the next day, year, or month while maintaining their ways of extreme value. So when a too big to kill dinosaur moves into their hunting grounds then need someone to figure out how to kill it or make it migrate,

Med

There is a joke among outsiders about Yeoguk. “If it isn’t poison, its poison.” The lush jungles, tropical beaches, and rich lands are filled to the brim with toxic and poisonous plants and creatures.

The native populations have grown with their environment over the years, having natural immunities to what many foreigners contract.

For medical resources the mystics of tribes use the slaves, powders, and alchemy to heal their wounded kin. The most common injuries come from puncture, bites, and falls for natives. Foreigners experience the same injuries, just with poison and disease too!

Penk

The land of dunes and arid mountain peaks. Penk is a land once fertilized, but ruined from a collapse. Five major city states control the nation.

Inside many of the mountains are oases or abandoned kingdoms from the ancients. The inside of the hollowed out mountain ranges are a glimpse into the world of Penk before its collapse.

Of the endless sand seas on the land, the one place feared by all is the Dark Desert. Known to be the location of a Corellon collapse and Melora’s corruption. The land is cursed due to the tainted blood of the gods meeting the ill intent of the land.

Only the heralds are the only known beings to enter and leave in modern history. Although there are rumors that merchants have been spotted in all pockets of the world. Even within the Dark Desert.

Economy

Penk is steeped in the trade of bronze coins, wears, and finished goods (axes, hammers, forges, carts, chests)

Government

Five city state nations work in an alliance to control the nation of Penk. Combine their armies, resources, and technologies to form a strong coalition making them a world power.

Crime & Legal System

Each of the 5 powers have a slightly different spin on the legal system, but generally there are voted on peacekeepers,

Peacekeepers take the will of the people into consideration when moderating issues. When they can’t come to a decision on their own, they bring the issue to the ruling council of their city state.

Each city-state adheres to different guidelines that vary from strict to loose punishments for crimes,

Society & Culture

Foreign Relations

3 out of the 5 city states are friendly with the Clovis conclave.

All but 1 are neutral toward New Clovis.

Penk is seen as a neutral territory to the Atulian alliance.

Penk mainly dislikes Yeoguk for they have no appreciation of their values and craft. They also have not forgotten or forgiven Ragnrioum’s death march to the Wind temple that reaped ruin throughout their lands.

War

Penk has had no interest in war for many collapses now. They are seen as the enablers of war, not the undertakers. Their resources are some of the best to trade for if you are looking to arm yourself as a power.

Penk was notorious for arming the countless civil war’s of succession inside Jellesia over the years.

The Land

The land is made up of thousands sof miles of desert and sand. Mountains housing previous worlds and shelter from the blistering heat litter the geography.

Dwarven fortresses stand the test of time and sand erosion on the border wall.

Extreme heat during the day 120-210 F

Extreme cold at night 0 to -30 F

Underground 50-80 F F

Natural Resources

The lifeblood of Penk are its specialized deposits of resources. Each of the 5 major cities have built their defenses, economy, and city around each deposit.

XXX- A wellspring of radiant energy. Powers the Clockwork city and its discoveries.

XXX- A magic well, giving refusage to the dragons of the world and providing them with magical power beyond that of normal beings.

XXX- The chitaberries, a fruit only found in XXX. Chitaberries have the ability to heal, bolster one’s fortitude, and give incredible bouts of energy to those who consume them.

XXX- The epicenter of natural ore and smithing resources in the world. XXX even outshines Khartulz in its depth and breadth of available ingots, ores, metals, and stone a smith could dream of.

Once the chosen domain of the Forge father or mountain lord, the city lost its smithing grip as the number one place in Zenya for the greatest smiths, builders, forgers, carpenters, and creators to live when the Herald Shalmir brought Khartulz to glory.

XXX- The previous Phonxiex calls its home here. Domesticated by the people of XXX, their entire city is based around a symbiotic relationship. The phonxies produce eggs, dust, feathers, droppings, ashes, and sands all used for trade, magic, and natural resources.

Population

One of the smallest populations in the world due to the harsh terrain and sparse resources outside the city state resource center.

Magic & Science

A land once rich with magic was devastated by collapses of the past. Now magic returns to the land with the return of dragons.

Medicine

Medicine is the lifeblood of a world with no easy means to get aid. The Chitaberries are the dominant medicine of the nation, with clerics being sparse and their capabilities to heal in mass being even less available.

Cleric clinics are often slammed and overrun with injury, with clerics doing their best to recover as fast as possible to aid the sick and injured.

Severe burns, bites, and poisons are the most common afflictions of the land.

World History to know

-The Heralds- a chosen group of 10 adventures that prevented a collapse of the world. Each chosen by a god to fight the corrupted Melora and restore order to the land.

They are considered the greatest heroes of recorded history. They are some of the most powerful beings that still walk the lands of Zenya.

-Prevented collapse: For the first time in Zenya’s history a collapse was prevented. A corrupted avatar of Melora, one of the 4 creator gods, was purified by the use of the weapon “Skybreaker”. A device that utilized the powers of the 4 creator gods and the orbs of eternal harmony to reset or destroy a god.

In a final showdown between the 10 chosen heralds and the madness hoard, the heralds were able to weaken the corrupted Melora through the aid of each of their supporting divinities and unleash skybreaker.

Shalmir Standladana lost his soul to the nothingness, the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom of Zenya.

This conflict was deemed a “prevented collapse”, as a madden era would have destroyed the current world and its teachings. For the first time in Zenya’s history, progress was not destroyed during a creator god collapse.

-Collapse: it is not known how many collapses have occured, but their effects can be found in the ruins of civilization buried around Zenya. With the fall of a creator god their influence weakens on the world of Zenya to its lowest point, needing to rebuild over time.

With their fall two known events occur. One of the remaining three creator gods grows to extreme influence of the world, causing an imbalance in the world.

Second, splitter gods are formed in the domain of the collapsed creator god. These splitter gods are the dissenting faiths of each domain.

-Splinter Gods: Splinter Gods are created during a collapse. They are the dissenting faiths of a domain built off the blood of creator gods.

Retmaw, the god of panic and torture was creatured during a Kratulla collapse. Retmaw was free to enslave the minotaur people, until four of the minotaurs demi-gods banded together to free their people from Retmaw’s bondage. Using the orbs of eternal harmony they were able to destroy the splinter god, freeing their people.

Splinter gods vary in form, domain, and influence. They are directly responsible for opposing creator gods' influences, besides other creator gods pushing against each other's domain.

-Corellon collapse: The heralds recover information from a fallen magecracy that was preserved inside a mountain top. They learned of the Corellon Collapse that caused the corruption of Melora.

In this time, a group of the greatest magic minds came together to create skybreaker. When the realization of their weapon was shared among the magic community they were shunned.

The magecracies of this time believed themselves to not need divine intervention, weakening the hold of the pantheon on Zenya,

Research into severing the connection was what directly led to the creation of skybreaker.

The small group of shunned scientist. Briaroot pemenbrook, the greatest mage of all time. Created a “failsafe” to keep the weapon in check. His party turned on him and proceeded with trying to destroy Corellon when the avatar of Melora intervene.

Skybreaker went off, Melora was corrupted, and the dark desert formed.

Briaroot, was never heard from again and the world fell into collapse as the 1st known madness war began.

The madness would lead to the dragon gods, who would destroy all the mageocracies of the era.

The three creator gods banished Melora to cinder, as they could not overcome her strength after her corruption. There she disappeared to time, taking dragon kind and their memories from the world.

-End of Brine Chasula’s reign as King of the North:

Brine Chasula is a legendary figure who led schism in the Drow faith away from Lolth.

Born of a low Drow house she dared to hope to live a day without fear.

Leading dissent among smaller houses and the enslaved, she started a mass migration of the Drow out of the City of Spiders.

Before escaping she was trapped by the three spider matriarchs and sent to Lolth’s plane.

There Brine was tortured for an uncertain amount of time, what she describes as “eternity”. With a refusal to give into Lolth’s influence, she became the chosen champion of Yarin, spirit of the forest.

With the support of Yarin, Lolth saw there was no point in continuing the stalemate and instead chose to curse Brine. She could never return to the city of spiders or she would be burned from the inside out and become a drider.

In addition, she froze Brine’s age, to watch everyone around her grow old and die. Brine could still be killed by non natural means, but everything she fought for would “Wither and die” while she was forced to roam Zenya. “And in your last moments, you will wish for my forgiveness. You will earn it, when you take your own life. You will have it when you accept there is only the night.

Escaping from the Kingdom of Spider’s she brought all the drow and slaves she could into the desserts of Penk, out of the underdark.

Their skin burned from the sun, many drow experiencing great weakness from the light. Many defected back to the Kingdom of Spiders feeling as though they could not escape Lolth’s wraith.

Those who stayed, pushed on with Brine. They crossed the Maw of the World and settled down in Jinzo. There their group was left alone for some time before the Kingdom of the North demanded their fealty.

At first Brine’s group pledged fealty, until they experienced another tyrannical rule. Refusing this outcome, Brine challenged the King of the North to an honor bound fight for the title, as had all the kings before.

Brine defeated the giant, taking the title King of the North and ushering a new time for the North.

Overtime, Brine helped reduce the effects of sunlight sensitivity for her kinsmen through new technologies, armors, and practices.

She unified 30 different northern houses and bartered trade and diplomacy between the houses for hundreds of years.

Hundreds of years turned to a thousand and it seemed as if her reign would last forever.

Her reign turned into her own prison, not wanting to rule. Her sense of duty to help those in need clashed with her hatred for the spotlight and attention. Often Brine would steal herself away from the boring politics of the world to adventure in the woods of the north, always being ripped back from that fantasy to the reality of her duty.

It wasn’t until the All-War that Brine faced her final test of integrity. The Cobalt Alliance started a war of false pretenses of a border dispute with the north. Invading the North, the Cobalt wolves dove into a bloody and long war against the north. Wiping out 23 of the 30 Northern houses.

During the North’s last stand, the heralds arrived and helped defeat the cobalt forces. Of note, they released an imprisoned tarrasque

and Brine was able to defeat the beast back to sleep after the cobalt forces had been devastated.

Brine would support the Heralds as they would rebuild the north, take up home in their own keep, an dorevent the next collapse.

In the aftermath of the prevented collapse, Moznel went missing.

This was Brine’s closest companion among the heralds. She began a search that led many to believe her mind had deteriorated with her extended life. Her obsession with finding him isolated her from the rest of the world.

With heralds leaving the world, many believed Moznel passed on during his own accord. Brine, searched as best she could, sending out her best people for any information, which led to a nightmare revelation when Ulyrsus Craydear believed with almost certainty that he was imprisoned in the city of spiders.

Brine tried to enter, but the curse prevented her from making it past the outskirts of the city. Utterly defeated Brine began looking to different planes for a way to sneak her way into the city of spiders.

Inside one of those planes, she ran into a group of adventurers, much like the heralds of the past, who would have goals aligned with her own.

They traveled to the City of Spiders, defeated Lolth’s champion, and freed the heralds imprisoned there.

Upon their freeing, an avatar of Lolth confronted the heralds with three of the fallen masters of the 13 hells. The heralds destroyed Lolth and the fallen leader of hell. Deius, Goddess of death, happily claimed their souls thanks to Rhalia Blackstone.

During this process, Moznel became the champion of the forest. The first multi-champion showing in the modern era. With his return, Brine renounced her title (for the 8th time during her reign) transferring it to a trusted ally that wouldn’t let the northern houses force her back into her title and a person who could handle the role.

In retirement, Brine began adventuring with Moznel and two new companions. Rediscovering the world she fought so hard for.

-The Fall of Waterdeep and the creation of the DELVE:

Waterdeep was a superpower capital in the land of Wittland. They had one of the greatest cities given their resources, magic, and military strength.

Waterdeep was destroyed when the madness horde invaded the city. Lead by Ragnorium Gecken, the corrupted champion of Mugdis, the madness horde destroyed 80% of the population of water deep and 95% of its buildings.

The final collapse of the city occured when Pargem, king of the dragon gods, was released from his prison. Escaping his plane he destroyed the Vault of Dragons, escaped Water deep to carry out the will of a corrupted Melora.

Waterdeep would have been completely destroyed with all of its occupants if not for the effort of the heralds, the waterdeep guard, and the grey hand. Each is honored in the new capital.

After the defeat of Melora, the heralds with the help of mercenaries and the Witlland military would destroy the occupying madness creatures of the ruin.

When the madden creatures would continue to appear despite the best efforts of the Atulian Alliance, it was revealed that a terrible pit had been created by Pargem’s escape.

When exploring deep into the pit, horrid madness creatures were found in the thousands.

Rhalia Blackstone (formerly clodshire), took control of the operation, researching the magical anomaly.

A small city was set up outside the pit for the miners, mercenaries, and families that worked on the project.

Death rates were extremely high on the project, even with a herald’s oversight. Worse than death was the madness the workers contracted which was incurable at their time.

Rhalia was able to stabilize many through new breakthroughs in her research, but a full cure was never found.

After 75 years of effort, Rhalia removed herself from the project due to pits corrupting nature.

People began calling the pit “The Delve” after the perceived defeat of the world’s strongest herald. The Delve became a myth and legend of the greatest terrors of the night. But the promise of a great treasure that rests at the bottom continues to draw hopefuls from around Zenya to become the being to conquer The Delve.

-The Reckoning: After the prevented Collapse by the heralds, Corellon was freed from his imprisonment. With his influencer renewed he began spreading his influence through the world again.

He set his sights on Schober, a land that was believed to be spreading his word with holy righteousness, but was in fact corrupted by Melora. Their views skewed his word and eventually completely departed from it.

A “Reckoning” happened when agents of Corellon began passing judgment on those responsible for the Schoberhiem genocide and those who help build and maintain the tyranical rule of Mortikia Seeker.

A mass of imprisonments, hard labors, and community service sentences were handed out. Many of the previous imprisoned were freed from their baseless or corrupt charges.

The clergy that corrupted leadership was disbanded and rebuilt but the new Valkyrie of Corellon.

Many fled the nation in fear of their judgment from Corellon. They live in exile and fear that one day Corellon’s justice will find them.

-Reconstruction of Fria: Fria was devastated by the All-war. A war that saw the Cobalt Alliance fight the soon to be founded Atulian Alliance.

The land was devastated by the invasion of its borders and the use of magical weapons.

The All-war ended with the death of the Escott Grandear, the Cobalt King, at the hands of the heralds.

Fria would take the next hundred years to stabilize. Rebuilding the land proved difficult due to the slow aid from the alliance, the constantly changing leadership of their government, and the terrible winters they experienced.

The people of Fria were beaten down, but started to come out the otherside with the finishing of their new capital.

A new capital served as a sign that the people of Frai had come out the other end of a terrible war.

Their good fortune was further founded by the discoveries of fire moss which helped their economy recover.

-Trade routes of the Ryu: The Lin Ryu played a part in the defeat of Escott Grandear during the All-War. Their family, people, and nobility migrated from Clovis after the cope de ta, to join the exiled princess Sari Clovis.

Sari Clovis was saved by the heralds during the coup. She found her role in helping restore Fria during the reconstruction period.

Being one of the loyal families from the previous monarchy, Sari appointed Lin Ryu to build and maintain trade routes throughout Atul.

With great pride the Lin Ryu created the great trade route which connects the north of Atul to the south. A 100 year project that has been celebrated by all nations.
